MDT can import some point cloud formats, such as LAS, but it is advisable to uncheck the Draw Points check box so as not to overload the CAD.
The Tcp PointCloud Editor application allows you to manage point clouds from LiDAR, scanner and photogrammetry, and is fully compatible with MDT.
