How is a road exported to IFC?

To export a road with its pavement layers to IFC, including its road markings, we execute the command BIM> Export IFC. Next we assign properties to the project and place, we choose the coordinate system and optionally an origin, and we add the segment created previously.

How do you export a terrain to IFC?

To export a surface to IFC format, just run the command BIM> Export to IFC. We assign properties to the project and site, choose the coordinate system and optionally designate a reference point graphically.

What functionality does MDT offer in terms of integration in OpenBIM projects?

MDT allows defining and assigning sets of properties to the project, site and each one of the elements, being able to export points, control points, topographic surfaces and earthworks to IFC. You can also import surfaces of different types and origins.

You can also export road and urban road pavement layers, ditches and drainage and horizontal marking elements to IFC. You can also export horizontal alignments in IFC 4.1 (IFC Alignment) and IFC 4.3 (IFC Road) formats.

Finally, MDT has tools to draw water, sanitation, rainwater networks, etc. The pipes and wells of these networks, with their respective properties, can be exported to IFC.
